About this event

Baby loss Awareness Week takes place every year from October 9th – 15th and is an opportunity for those affected by pregnancy and baby loss and their families and friends to unite with others across the world to commemorate their babies’ lives and lost pregnancies.

This year there will be a service in Coventry Cathedral on Sunday October 10th at 2.00 p.m. for anyone who has ever been affected in any way by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

This is a short but beautiful service of remembrance, and it’s for anyone who has ever experienced the death of a baby at any stage of pregnancy or after birth. It might have happened recently or years ago. Everyone is welcome, children too. It’s a chance to take some time together in an amazing space, to listen to people talk about their own experience, to light candles, and to pray. Afterwards, we’re inviting people to bring a picnic and gather together on the lawn outside the cathedral, for a chance to talk to others, if you want to.  It’s very informal, there’s no need to book, just turn up.

Organisers of the event said: We hope our beautiful and uplifting event will help those who have been affected feel more connected and less alone.
“We hope that this year’s event at Coventry Cathedral will help start more conversations about pregnancy and baby loss, and by doing so help bereaved parents and families feel more able to talk about their babies and find ways to look after themselves and others.”
