Making health and social care services work better, for everyone

At Healthwatch Warwickshire, we are committed to focus on specific areas for improvement – these strategic priorities are set by our Board each year.

For 2017/18 we have identified the following projects to focus on: Domiciliary Care and Mental Health.

Domiciliary Care

Here’s what we are doing as part of our focus on Domiciliary Care, also known as Home Care, where carers visit people in their homes to provide care services.

We are working closely with Warwickshire County Council Commissioners for Domiciliary Care to reach out to those in receipt of care in their home to understand their experiences and help them resolve any problems they might be encountering.

We are distributing this informative postcard, to let people know that we’d like to hear from them.

As part of this, we also want to reach out to family and friends – as they too will be aware of how things are going.

If you work with or know somebody who receives care and may need help with their service, we’d like to hear from you too as part of this project.

Mental Health

Here’s what we are doing as part of our focus on Mental Health.

We visited the provider of NHS Mental Health services in Warwickshire, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), in a six day ‘enter and view’ visit during November and December 2016.  Our subsequent report was received positively by the CWPT – who report to have actioned all of the 42 recommendations. A copy of our report with findings of the visit is available here.

We continue to work with CWPT to focus on mental health services, particularly in the light of the recent CQC Report into their service.  For more information see our News item here.
