Making health and social care services work better, for everyone

An update from the RSC about their new Dementia Group:

“As part of our continuing work to ensure our public spaces are open and accessible to all, we will be piloting a group meeting for those living with dementia. This will be a way for those living with dementia to connect with and support one another. The group will meet in the Swan Café every Friday at 2pm from  Friday, 25th January. We hope that the group will be formed and developed by those that attend, focussing on their needs (the ethos being ‘nothing about us without us’, as we have learned through our partnership project with Vamos over the last year or so). We expect the pilot scheme to run for around 3 months.

We can provide a warm, safe and comfortable environment for the group (the Swan Café is brightly lit, with reduced ambient noise, breakout spaces close at hand, an accessible toilet nearby and with step-free access). Staff present will have been trained as Dementia Friends, and will be more than happy to support in any way.”

Please do share this group with anybody you know that is living with dementia and may wish to attend!
